It can take a very long time for a person on the South Beach diet to get to phase 3. It really depends on how
dedicated they are to staying on track with the program. Phase 1 will only last two weeks but phase 2 will go on

introduced as a way to maintain the success that has occurred.
This is the healthiest phase of the entire diet plan as well. You will be able to consume three servings of
fresh fruits and three servings of whole grains each day. You will be able to consume carbs but they need to be
those that are high in fiber. Since you will be able to introduce more variety with foods in this phase of the
South Beach diet it should be the most enjoyable.
It is important to continue consuming a large amount of fresh vegetables each day with in this phase. It will
help keep you satisfied and so you will be less likely to make poor food choices. The fact that you get to eat
until you are full is nice, but you need to pay attention to serving sizes. Moderation is the key when you get to
phase 3 of the South Beach diet plan.
One way to make sure you don’t overeat is to never skip a meal. You also need to have two healthy snacks between
those meals. That way you are never completely starved which can lead to overeating. It can also lead to poor food
